Illa claims the amnesty has been "positive": "It's so obvious that words are unnecessary."

The president of the Generalitat (Catalan government) , Salvador Illa , claimed this Wednesday that the amnesty law has been "positive" in all aspects, in Catalonia and the rest of Spain, which he maintained is "obvious": "It is so obvious that words are unnecessary," he concluded.

During the parliamentary oversight session, Illa argued that the law should be fully "effective"—which he already requested last August during his investiture, he recalled—and stated "forcefully and clearly" that he will continue working to ensure this.

The head of the Catalan government has described the content of the report by the vice president of the Constitutional Court , Inmaculada Montalbán, as "very good news." She endorses the bulk of this regulation, considering it reasonable and justified: "I hope this makes some of those who are not applying this law reflect," she added.

In this regard, he expressed his full support for the central government's reforms to the justice system, decisions that "are not simple" but are "essential."

Illa has called for "respect" for the legislative branch, which expressed itself "in a timely manner" when it approved the amnesty , just as he "respects" the judges.
